The big thing to do these days is to take on every kind of job and diy or do it yourself. This will save you money, but also give you tremendous satisfaction on a job well done. Recently I went into a clients house to do some plumbing work for their basement bathroom. My client was building his own shower stall out of tile. Which made it tough for me to have to break the tile on the wall with the faucet in it to get it going the right way. Two hours after I had my part finished and that night he put back the drywall and tile, and grouted the next evening. All in all not a huge deal, but still disappointing, hopefully he does not read this, lol.
A project that I am taking on next week is a diy tiles job. This is a fairly simple job as far as tile setting goes. I am installing tile on the floor in the basement bathroom. I have to lift the toilet, pour down some thin set, which is a self levelling cement. Then start setting tiles. Compared to installing tile in a shower or on a shower floor with a liner this should be easy, at least that is what it looks like in the book.
